    @unityspirit51 I fully agree that dogs are smarter than we give them credit for. I don’t think they understand language, or at least not in the way humans do. The reason your dog knows the word that use use when she’s been bad is because she’s learned to associate that word with something negative. I don’t believe that the dog actually understands the exact definition of the word, only that it is associated with negativity. Same goes for names. Dogs learn that it’s a word to respond to.

    @PurpleCrayons92 just because the dog will hear their name all the time and disassociate it with coming, unless you use a special tone in the way that you say it like raising your voice in the way that she does when she says “woohoo”

    @Virility Thanks i have been training her for about a year and she is doing extremely well, considering the other malamutes. Every afternoon i take both my dogs on walks and while i’m walking i let her lead sit on-top of her back and just walk then, she is fine but sometimes she just wanders a little too far away from me and I become nervous :/ Its just a different story when it comes to the beach (koda is fine doing off lead recall about 60-100 metres off lead, but that just sitting and I’m…
